Common questions

Do I need an account? No. FlightPath has no accounts and no sign-in. Your progress saves automatically on your device.

Does it work offline? Yes, entirely. There is no network connection required at any point.

Where is my progress stored? On your device only. It is never uploaded anywhere. Deleting the app erases it, so avoid deleting the app if you want to keep your study history.

Why do the PBM drills ask for headphones? The Dichotic Listening drill plays different audio to each ear, which is how the real subtest works. Without headphones the exercise doesn't function as intended.

Can I use a flight stick or controller? Yes. The Tracking drill detects a connected gamepad or HOTAS stick and switches to velocity control automatically, which is closer to the real test's input model than touch.

Are these the real test questions? No. Every question is original, written for this app and modeled on publicly documented ASTB-E subject areas. No actual test content is reproduced.

How many attempts do I get on the real ASTB-E? Three in a lifetime, with mandated waiting periods between them. Check current official guidance with your recruiter or officer program coordinator, as policy can change.

Reporting a problem with a question

If you believe a question or explanation is wrong, email the question text and what you think the correct answer is. Accuracy matters more than volume — these get fixed quickly.
